There's an increasing variety of cafes, bars and restaurants in the village to choose from, but we've chosen some of the ones that we think are worth checking out to share with you in this post.
Perhaps the best thing about going out to eat in Hanmer - apart from the fact you don't have to cook for yourself, is that everything is within walking distance from most parts of the village.
1) No. 31 Restaurant & Bar
Located right in the centre of the village, No.31 Amuri Ave is one of the most well regarded eateries in Hanmer Springs, consistently attracting glowing reviews. Serving modern European inspired dishes that keep the local environment in mind with the inclusion of Quail, Wild Hare, Venison and Goats Cheese, just to name a few. The menu also includes vegetarian options and the desserts are decadent.
No. 31 has an extensive wine list too so you can make the most of those lovely Waipara wines, choose a craft beer or select your favourite cocktails from their special menu. Pine and Elderflower Martini, anyone?

2) Saints
Alway bustling and with a great atmosphere and menu, Saints is one of the most popular dining destinations in the village. They also have some great specials including 2 for one stone grills, ribs night and 2 for one pizza.

3) Powerhouse Cafe & Restaurant
As you’d imagine from it’s name, this small restaurant is located in the former historic hydro-electric power station in the village, and is about a two minute walk from the Hanmer hot pools - so its the perfect place to relax after all that exertion. You can sit indoors or outdoors if the weather is good, or you can take away some eats and coffee to any spot you choose.
Open for breakfast and lunch (aka brunch) daily from 7.30am - 2pm, it’s a popular choice for those after an espresso, some great eggs bene or a health inducing smoothie.
There’s also a variety of vegetarian, gluten and dairy free options on the menu and the the Powerhouse is renowned for their cabinet filled with great cakes and baked goodies.

4) Mr Yunan
If you’re after some delicious Asian cuisine, the fresh flavours of Mr Yunan’s Thai and Chinese food selection might just be the thing you’re after.
